The principal objectives of NECA are the promotion, safeguarding and advancement of members' interests. NECA Welcomes Draft OHS Harmonisation Legislation (November 2009)
The National Electrical and Communications Association "NECA" has welcomed Safe Work Australia's draft model Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation to achieve harmonisation of OHS laws in Australia, which incorporates the majority of NECA's previous recommendations to the National OHS Review Panel.

A Safety Guide for Employees in the Electrical, Communications and Data Industries
- The new revised NECA Red Book 2007 now has information on 95 critical safety topics for workers in our industry, twice the number of the previous edition.
- The book is still printed as a durable and handy pocketsize guide that can be conveniently carried in the glove box, toolbox or pocket.

AS3000:2007 Wiring Rules Release (November 2007)
Completely revised since the 2000 edition, this Standard specifies electrical installation safety requirements for all premises in Australia. With over 450 pages, it expands coverage on electrical installations, improves safeguards and ensures Australian electrical installations remain in-line with best contemporary practice.
