The NECA ACT Apprentice of the Year Awards were announced at the NECA Excellence Awards Dinner held on the 4 September 2009.

The Commercial/Domestic apprentice nominees were:

and the winners were:

1st Place - Geoffrey Hepburn

2nd Place - Robert Cruickshank

The Industrial Automation / Communications apprentice nominees were:

• Brett Rutten - Control and Electric Pty Ltd
• Giuseppe Zappulla - Control and Electric Pty Ltd

and the winners were:

1st Place - Giuseppe Zappulla

2nd Place -Brett Rutten

3rd Place -Peter Egan

The Industrial apprentice nominee was:
